Lovely August. Okay, so for a lot of people it wasn’t so lovely as it meant the start of term at school. Take Jess Hartland for example. He trudged down the street in jeans and a fitted t-shirt. He shoved his hands into his pockets as he walked down the sidewalk, glancing at shops and cafes as he went. If it hadn’t been for his stupid friends, he wouldn’t even be stuck here. Stupid. Jess never got caught, he’d been accused yes, but never actually charged other than a few fights he’d gotten into.
As he walked, Jess saw very few things that he thought interesting. That is, until he saw the old movie theater. It looked very empty for it to be a weekend. In fact, it didn’t even look open aside from the gum popping teenager at the box office up front. He looked up to see what was playing. Invitation, a movie from the 1950’s about a man who tries to bye his dying daughter a husband. He’d seen it only once. In theater two there was Godfather I. After some consideration, Jess chose Godfather.
Jess rummaged through his pockets and found enough money for a ticket and a soda. He took his seat in the empty theater watching the black and white movie in the middle row. He reclined in his chair with his feet propped up not really listening closely as he almost knew the whole movie by heart.

Frick today was what? Monday...Maybe Tuesday. Eh dosent matter at all actualy. Why would it. All that matters was today was the first day of the term...that ment Jada had two more years left at Waverly. Twomore years of drama, parties, drama, sex, essays...Oh and did I mention DRAMA. It was almost a painful walk Knowing what lay a head of her....of everyone.
With her arms wrapped tightly around her chest, grabing her white trench coat, which covered her mini skirt. Shaking her brown her Jada walked down the sidewalk her eyes glancing the shops and cafe's on the side. Everything waspeaceful in this town in the morning and most of the afternoon. But everyone knew what happened when the sun went down. Shaking her head from ideas, thought and memories, Jada took a sharp turn into the almost run down theater and bought a ticket to the GodFather. She had seen it a few times, and enjoyed it a bit. Grabbing some candy and a water she walked into the theater...Alone...No Not alone there was another person in there....Hmmm.
After a second or two Jada sat down about two rows down from him.Might as well..

Jess tilted his head at the screen, pondering a few random things. Like, why did they call these films black and white when truly, they were gray. Well, black and white together made gray, but still. He yawned and stretched. Jess could hardly believe it was morning and he was awake. It was the first night in a while you haven’t either been high or drunk/ He thought to himself with a scowl. It was just reminding himself about how bad he needed something.
Just as he was feeling around his back pockets for his lighter and cigarettes, he heard the theaters doors open, letting light flood that corner and then let the theater go dark again as they closed them. Jess watched, interested in who else would be up in the morning to see Godfather I. He thought he was the only crazy one in town. Whoever it was paused at spotting him in his seat. Jess watched them in turn and followed her with his eyes as she took a seat two rows down from him.
Jess got to his feet and climbed down to her, plopping in the chair next to her. He had his lighter in hand and was flipping it on and off over and over again, letting a small flame lick the air for a split second before it disappeared. “Big Godfather fan?” He asked her, clicking the lighter again.

Jada smirked as she heard the seat flip down next to her, Turning to the boy, Her face some what illuminated from the screen, his too. Watching the flame come and go brought back somethings from last year. Glancing at him, looking at him when the flame came.. "Not so much...just nothing better to do that dosent cost alot." Jada closed her lips, she learned awhile ago better let them start the next thing...ask the next question.
Her eyes flicked Back to0 the screen For a moment.
(sorry so short and late and blah yeah lol))

Jess watched his flame flicker on and off, the orange reflecting in his intense, dark eyes. He never knew he would regret the things he did. And yet, here he sat, greatly regretting everything. He got sent off to boarding school, just as his parents had promised him time and time again, every time he got busted for something. Jess clicked off the lighter and stuck it back into his jean pocket.
As she spoke, Jess recognized her voice. He’d heard it sometime back at the school. Even though school had been in only about a day or two, they’d moved in a week back to get settled. Though it was Jess’s first year at Waverly he’d gotten the hang of all the cliques pretty quickly. He tilted his head and Jada and smirked, “Jada Owens. You’re like the queen bee of those Alpha chicks, aren’t you?”

With a small smiled she nodded to his last question. Yeah she was an alpha...but being known for only that kinda sucked. But then again what else had she done to be well known for. Letting her mind wonder to everything that happened since she had been going to this school and everything she still does. Most people know the Alpha's party, more or less their the pary animals of the school. But thats all well and good but maybe something else. Jada was known for smoking pot, more or less she did it everyday when she could. The last time she had was about 3 hours ago. So she was still feeling the effect.
She looked at the boy who knew her name. "Yeah something like that I guess you could say." She smirked "Who are you?"

“So, what did you have to do to get that spot? Kill the old queen bee?” Jess teased, keeping his eyes on the black and white screen. As she inquired as to who he was, Jess smirked. Of course word hadn’t gotten around that they had a convicted criminal in their midst. Jess had not spoken to anyone yet, save his small conversation with Jada now. Her question was very general in his opinion. ‘Who are you?’ Well, he was Jess Hartland. Well, not exactly, in fact Jess was probably one of many Jesse Hartlands in the world.
As for his character, well Jess could easily explain his character. He did not deny that he wasn’t the best person in the world. He did drugs, he drank, he smoked, he got into fights, and had been arrested a good few times for various misdemeanors. However, that was all Jess actually knew about himself. Rather sad, really. He also knew that he hated school and authority figures. Jess also knew that he hated his father with every fiber of his being.
“I’m Jess.”

JAda smiled at the movie while listening to him, Her eyes followed the lines in the screen, the sploches and spots. It always amazed her how much more she enjoyed Blackand white movies compared to new age. The acting was real back then...Everything seemed much simpler than now and days back them. Her eyes slowly moved to his face and she slightly smirked.
"Oh you didn't hear about it, I was convited of murder at 14." She giggled slightly and shook her. "Nope I just was..Choosen...sadly...Hehe" Forcing a smile she turned back to the screen. Counting the minutes it took for him to give her his first name. "Well jess." She glanced at him and smirked. "Do you happen to have a last name or is it just Jess." Her green eyes sparkled. As she poundered what to ask him. "Well either way, How come i havent seen you before..Where you from Jess?"

This time, Jess couldn’t help but smile. He remembered his mom saying one day, when he was a bit younger and she a bit more sober, “You look so handsome when you smile, Jess. It’s much better than that scowl you have all the time.” Jess knew this, for he’d heard girls say the same thing on the rare occasions he had gone to school. Of course, at Waverly he couldn’t escape school. That really sucked.
“No, I don’t watch the news all that much. But I am sure I would have been moderately interested if I heard about your murder in search of power over a group of shallow girls.” Jess spoke as if he were speaking about how nice the weather was outside. He noted her forced smile and cocked his head in curiosity, “So, you don’t enjoy having power over shallow girls? I’m shocked.”
When she asked if he had a last name he smirked, “Yes, in fact, I do happen to have a last name.” As she asked him where he came from, Jess turned away for a second and watched the movie. “I’m new this year, actually. I came from New York.”

"Why so shocked?" Her eye brows raised, but Jada didnt turn her head to look at him. no need to. He already had and idea about her. What was it a shallow bitch, who lovespower, loves sex and wHat love to party. Eh somewhat true but not to the point this kid was thinking. She actualy hated power, and hated seeing people change for her. It was completly pityful. Jada was smart and loved reading, loved learning, Something no one would think. And of course she loved sex, why not it feels good, its healthy and it makes you look better...well your skin anyway.
The thing most people didnt understand was that you couldn't change who you are. You can maybe put a mask on but one day it'sgoing to fall off. And Jada Had a wonderfull Talent of looking through that mask. "Who would enjoy a group of girls, Well the power of it." she smirked slightly. "The only way I would totaly ejoy it is if I were a Lesibian...."Cocking a smile and looking at him she said. "But im only half that." Giggling she turned away.
"New york??Your a long way from home arent ya. Let me know if I can help." That last prat was probably the wrong thing to say. A boy like Jess...Well what Jada got anyway was that he would never admit that he needed help. he would prolly get offend to the fact she offered it.
